-Tanqueray hosts a secret summer cocktail garden of living botanicals until October 2013 –

This summer 2013, Carom (www.caromsoho.com) will be transformed into a living botanical secret garden bar with award-winning gin Tanqueray.

Located in the heart of bustling Soho at 100 Wardour Street, the Botanical Gin Garden will provide an elegant glasshouse space for guests to indulge in botanical-bacchanalia, with long balmy evenings of imaginatively infused cocktails and delicious pan-Indian dishes amongst the garden’s fragrant living wall of herbs and natural flora.

Guests will be greeted by an intoxicating aroma of flourishing blossoms as they sit on antique garden benches with crates of terracotta potting plants, pretty jam jars of fragrant wild flowers, hanging pots of herbs, and green bottles sprouting verdant foliage throughout.

A glass roof pyramid will reveal the sky above, accented with trailing living plants and greenery and an enormous vintage glass chandelier that catches the light.

Expect midnight garden parties, sipping on gin cocktails created by Calum Lawrie and Adam Spinks, such as the elegant Rose & Lychee Collins using Tanqueray and garnished with orange peels and fragrant dried petals or the refreshing Tiny Ten martini simply combining Tanqueray No.TEN with pink grapefruit to bring out the spirit’s existing notes of whole citrus fruit botanicals incorporated at distillation.

The Rangpur Southside cocktail uses Indian inspired Tanqueray Rangpur with freshly grown mint, ginger, lime and garnished with a bay leaf. The Malacca Fizz combines fresh cream, orange blossom water, lemon juice, soda and is finished with cinnamon and sugar, using the very special Tanqueray Malacca, which was derived from an 1839 recipe and has notes of cinnamon and orange.

Budding botanists can form a collaborative partnership with their bartender to create bespoke cocktails using a classic Tom Collins base with Tanqueray London Dry Gin’s complex combination of refreshing juniper, peppery coriander and aromatic angelica, and using the growing botanicals in the garden for a bespoke flavour profile.
