London Social 101 is always on the look out for hot new bars across London! We think with this one, we’ve definitely found a little gem!
Last week Megaro officially opened the doors to its new boutique bar in King’s Cross, bringing expressive, bespoke cocktails and unique dishes to the London bar and restaurant scene.
Serving heritage cocktails created with eclectic spirits, homemade cordials and tales from the far reaches of the world, Megaro Bar is divided into two spaces, one taking inspiration from a classic film set, dressed with vintage tripod stands and worn leather director chairs, and the other heralding a photography ‘Dark Room’, alive with vivid illustrations.
The rich interior pays homage to a bygone era of creativity, setting the scene for Megaro Bar’s ten artistic cocktails, all made using bespoke ingredients. Concentrating on flavour over spectacle, each drink is wholly original, whether it’s the film inspired ‘Lavender Hill Mob Fizz’, or grapevine infused Cachaca based ‘Dolma Sour’.
From cocktails to appetisers, Megaro Bar sets itself apart with an innovative range of six chef’s plates, including a scallop ceviche with green strawberry and almond, and compressed watermelon with lemon, olive and feta. The menu has been expertly crafted so each dish can be enjoyed with its corresponding cocktail, creating an unexpected, yet refined, pairing.
Megaro Bar will be open from Tuesday 9th July 2013 and is ideally located opposite King’s Cross Underground Station at 23 – 27 Euston Road, London, NW1 2SD.
