The Las Iguanas Bar Challenge puts its team from across the country to the test to create their very own Malibu inspired cocktail with the coveted top spot gaining them a spot on the new bar menu.
After battling it out, the final 3 then go head to head for the top spot, voted for on the challenge night by the good public.
The winner gets their cocktail in the summer menu and a shiny trophy, and of course top Las Iguanas cocktail creator bragging rights!
Open to the public for the first time, we got 5 vouchers to test out the contending cocktails and a Malibu inspired goodie bag, followed by an afterparty with their live resident DJ. Not bad for a mere £20!
Contender number one was ‘Barbados heat’. Made with Pineapple, lime, lemongrass, ginger, and of course Malibu, this little beauty was easy to drink with a warm gingery aftertaste.
Up next was ‘Caribbean club’, a cheeky number with fresh raspberries, Malibu and dry martini. This was definitely the sweetest of the three with a sherberty tang to it.
And last but not least was ‘Little beach’ which lives up to its name, smooth and creamy like a Pina Colada, but with passion fruit instead of coconut, it ticked all the beach cocktail boxes, you even get a cherry on top!
And the winner is… Barbados heat! So keep your eyes out for its appearance on the cocktail menu, then kick back and chill out with this gingery loveliness.
